Our commitment

We want everyone to be able to use romillywilde.com. Not most people, everyone.

That means a site you can use with a screen reader, navigate with a keyboard alone, read at the text size that suits you, and get through without needing a steady hand or perfect colour vision. We think of this the way we think about our formulations. It is not a feature we add at the end. It is part of how the thing is built.

We are not finished. This page tells you honestly where we are, what we are working on, and how to reach a person if the site gets in your way.

The standard we work to

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2, at level AA. This is the international standard that United Kingdom, European and United States accessibility law is measured against.

We have designed the site with this standard in mind, but we have not yet completed a formal audit against it. We plan to do so shortly after launch and will update this page with the results.

How we have approached accessibility

From the start of the build, we have:

• Used accessibility checking tools during the design process to review colour contrast and legibility.
• Built the site to support keyboard navigation and screen reader use.
• Designed for reflow, so the site stays usable when text is enlarged and on smaller screens.
• Avoided content that flashes or moves in a way that could cause discomfort.
• Included accessibility in how we brief and review new content, so the site does not slip backwards as it grows.

Until the site has been formally audited, we cannot confirm that every page meets the standard in practice. Where we already know there are gaps, we have listed them below.

Where we know we fall short

We would rather tell you than let you find out. We are currently working on:

• Writing descriptive alternative text for product photography and imagery.
• Labelling forms clearly and writing error messages that say what has gone wrong and how to fix it.

This list will grow after our first formal audit. We will publish the findings here and work through them.

Some content on our site comes from third parties, including our reviews, our payment providers and any embedded video. We do not control how those are built, but we choose our partners with accessibility in mind and we raise problems with them when we find them.

If the site gets in your way

We can also send you product information, ingredient lists and instructions for use in a different format if that would help. Just ask.

We aim to reply within two working days.

Tell us what we have missed

If you find something on our site that does not work for you, please tell us. It is the fastest way for us to fix it, and we would genuinely rather know.

Email hello@romillywilde.com and, if you can, tell us the page you were on, what you were trying to do, and what happened instead. If you use assistive technology, knowing which one helps us reproduce the problem.

We will acknowledge your message within two working days and tell you what we are going to do about it and when.

If we do not get it right

If you are not satisfied with how we have responded, please tell us and we will look at it again.

You also have rights under the law where you live. In the United Kingdom, the Equality Act 2010 requires us to make reasonable adjustments so that disabled people are not put at a substantial disadvantage. If you live elsewhere, equivalent protections will usually apply. Nothing on this page limits those rights.
