Why Positive Luxury? A Note From Our Founder
By Susie Willis
Why Positive Luxury? What the Butterfly Mark means to me.
I have always pursued businesses that have a substantiated, credible voice supporting the brand's values and ESG mission. For me, to work with Positive Luxury was a huge confidence booster as to pass their high level of audit and attain the Positive Luxury ‘Butterfly Mark’ is exhaustive and ongoing.
Committing to a pledge to constantly support and improve both the business ESG agenda, and the COP27 policy is something I am incredibly proud of. As a small business, it takes a lot of resource and is not necessarily the most commercially loaded business decision, but shows legacy and vision for a bigger picture, which for Romilly Wilde is growing a brand alongside supporting the planet.
I first met the co-founder and CEO Diana Verde Nieto for a coffee after I had started the process and I was inspired by her vision to make this kind of business accountability more accessible to the consumer by bringing in more technology that can be applied to ecommerce sites and packaging, supporting brands to both pursue this accreditation and for it to mean something to the wider audience.
Three years on we continue working together, with their team of luxury and sustainability experts to create a culture that values purpose, collaboration, excellence and optimism above all else. We are united by a shared mission of shaping a sustainable future for luxury.
